Suspension Repair

Uneven ride height, a new vibration, steering changes, repeated bottoming, or unusual tire wear can involve suspension components or a connected system. Note how the truck is loaded and when the behavior changes.

Ride and handling changes are useful clues.

Step 1

Note whether ride height is uneven while parked on level ground

Step 2

Describe changes under load, on turns, or over road surfaces

Step 3

Mention uneven tire wear or a recent impact if known

Describe when the truck behaves differently

Record whether a change appears while turning, braking, carrying a load, or crossing rough pavement. If you can do so safely, note which side or axle looks different without going beneath the vehicle.

Suspension and tire wear can be connected

Uneven wear, repeated bouncing, bottoming, and changes in steering feel may have more than one cause. Share tire position, load conditions, and any recent alignment or suspension work rather than assuming which part has failed.

Keep an unsafe vehicle out of service

A broken component, unstable handling, or a wheel position that looks abnormal can affect control. Park safely, follow your operating procedures, and ask a repair location whether it can assess the reported concern.
